News center main reporting the Freiburg fair has gone virtual. They're doing some cooking, some contests, and more happening now through October 11. The AP is reporting that a 12 year old has been struck by birdshot in Washington County.

Some good news for the Portland food scene even with the coronavirus pandemic. More than a year after seemingly closing for good, Silly's restaurant has opened up at a new location in Portland.

Fired Rockland police officers allegedly beat porcupines to death while they were on duty. 27 year old Addison Cox of Warren and 30 year old Michael Rollerson of Searsmont have been charged with aggravated animal cruelty and night hunting, which is illegal in Maine. They were fired September 22, and they'll appear in court in November. That's just a little bit of what's going on today in vacation land.
