I could have totally asked, hey, what are you saving for?

It's just a little more standard if you say

I feel like saving up a, like I feel like a child sounds a little more complete.

There's so many different scenarios we could talk about when you would maybe ask this or when you wouldn't or when you would talk about what you're trying to save for.
