Perfecto. Now as this episode, I am very excited because I'm bringing you a very nice topic. As you know, the verb to be can be a bit tricky in Spanish because we have two verbs, and You may have learned that is used for location, and you are correct. However, what if I tell you we use for location too? Don't worry because all will make sense at the end of this episode.

首先，如你所知，我们用estar来定位人和物体的位置。'图书馆在哪里？'这个句子中，我们在定位一个物体——图书馆的位置。¿Dónde está la biblioteca?

Then, as you may know, we use to locate people and things in the world. Where is the library? In this sentence, we are locating a thing. We are locating the library. Where is the library?

因此定位物体时（本例中是建筑物），我们使用estar。另一个例子：'文件在抽屉里'（Los documentos estaban en el cajón）。这里再次定位物体，所以用estar的过去式estaban。通过这两个例子可以看出，我们用estar进行位置定位。

So to locate a thing, in this case is a building, we use a star. Another example is, The documents were in the drawer. Here again, we locate a thing. They were, the documents were. So with these two examples, we can see that we use to locate.

那么为什么我说ser也能表示位置呢？这种情况发生在定位事件时。当我们要定位的不是人或物体，而是世界中的事件时，就要使用ser。别担心，我们马上看例子。第一个是'编织课在社区中心'（La clase de tejido es en el centro comunitario），这里用ser因为tejido是事件，必须用ser表示位置。

Then why am I saying that we also use for location? This is going to happen when we are locating an event. So if we have an event and it is not people or things, we are locating events in the world, then we are going to be using Don't worry because we are going to see some examples. The first one is Here we are using the verb because it's the knitting. This is an event, so we must use for the location.

'会议将在老板办公室举行'——事件，必须用ser。另一个例子：'La fiesta fue en el jardín de Clara'（聚会在克拉拉的花园举行）。首先需要知道fue是ser的过去式，由于fiesta（聚会）是事件，必须用ser。同理，fiesta（聚会）、reunión（会议）、boda（婚礼）都属于事件类。

The meeting will be or will take place in the boss' office. An event, so we must use Another example is The first thing that we need to know about this is that is the preteritems of the verb. So means the party was in Clara's garden. La Fiesta is the party and this is an event, so we must use Ser. Then Fiesta, Reunion, Boda, which is a wedding, all of them are events.

And remember that if we want to locate an event, we must use I love practicing. I think that's the best way to consolidate what we have learned. So I prepared a quick exercise for you. I'm going to say a sentence in English, and I want you to decide if we are going to use or If you feel confident, you can also translate the whole sentence. So, The first one is the book is on the table.

'书在桌子上'——用estar还是ser？必须用estar，因为我们在定位物体。'El libro está en la mesa'，用estar定位物体。下一题：'The concert is in the Central Park'（音乐会在中央公园）。

The book is on the table. Do we use or We have to use a star because we are locating a thing. The book is on the table using a star to locate things. The next one is, the concert is in the Central Park. The concert is in the Central Park.

音乐会属于事件，所以用ser：'El concierto es en el Central Park'。再来一题：'The date will be at a restaurant'（约会将在餐厅进行）。约会属于事件，所以用ser：'La cita será en un restaurante'。

The concert is an event, so it has to be The concert is in the Central Park. Let's do one more. This time the sentence is, the date will be at a restaurant. The date will be at a restaurant. Or The date is an event, so we are using The date will be at a restaurant.
