The violation finding against Loudoun County Public Schools stems from an incident earlier this year when several male students were recorded in a locker room questioning why another student who identifies as male but presents as female was in there with them. The student who was being questioned recorded the interaction. After sexual harassment complaints to the school, two of the teen boys who were recorded were suspended. Title nine is a federal civil rights law that prohibits sex discrimination in any education program that receives federal funding. The education department says the school district violated title nine when it took the female students' claims seriously, but not the male students.
