And as we get things started, pastor Schaller, the reality of spiritual warfare is found right in Paul's letters, both to the Ephesians and to the Corinthians.

He actually uses those words when he speaks about the weapons of our warfare.

So we could begin the broadcast today by simply acknowledging the fact that spiritual warfare is a reality.

I think that's a very good point.

Very important in the beginning of the Bible, we have the garden.

We have man, Adam and Eve.

You have the garden and then the serpent.

I don't know that and you have God walking in the midst of the garden in the cool of the day.

God is talking to Adam and Eve, instructing them.

Now, if you just take a photo of that picture, you take a picture of that and you just realize, today, it's essentially the same.

There is the earth that's cursed.

You have Adam and Eve as sinners and you have the serpent who's let loose and is walking on the earth to and fro.

So, he's looking for whom he may devour in one Peter five.

He's a real spirit and unfortunately, many actually believers included don't believe in the devil.

They have some medieval concept of, you know, of a devil with a pitchfork and so on.

But you look at the scripture and what Jesus says about it and his encounter with demons, when we read the epistles, what Paul is saying about the armor that we need for this warfare because often people attribute the troubles and pain in life to the natural and not to the spiritual.

And and I think it's safe to say that not everything that that happens in our lives is necessarily the devil is behind it.

Let me give you an illustration.

Some like a believer goes to work and he's habitually late for work.

然后，你知道的，他的老板或主管会说，你必须准时到岗。

And, you know, his his boss or his administrator says, you know, you've gotta be on time.

你已经连续好几天迟到了。

You've been late for several days in a row.

然后他向朋友解释时说，你看，我在工作中受到迫害，因为我没能准时上班。

And, you know, he explains that to friends and says, well, you know, my I'm being persecuted at work because I haven't been showing up on time.

I'm I'm convinced it's persecution.

Well, it might not be persecution.

那可能不是属灵争战。

That might not be spiritual warfare.

那可能只是缺乏自律。

That might just be a lack of discipline.

Yeah.

所以关键在于我们不必凡事都疑神疑鬼。

So the the point being is that we shouldn't necessarily be looking for a demon under every rock.

Mhmm.

但与此同时，分辨属灵争战又如此重要，不是吗

But at the same time, it's so important to discern spiritual warfare, isn't

it?

Yes.

And not to deny it, but to be aware and recognize because when the devil was talking to Eve, it wasn't obvious to her who he was.

I I think that she didn't, you know, it was maybe a reasonable conversation with this animal.

Right?

This, animal that had not yet gone down on his belly because he had not been cursed that way, you know.

But that's maybe one of the most interesting revelations that we have in the New Testament for somebody just reading the Bible for the first time that the demons exist, Christ is encountering them.

He attributes a lot of the trouble that was happening in the world to the work of evil.

I mean, it's it's real.

And I think that you can sense it, especially when perhaps you you're beginning to look at the possibility of making a real impact in the kingdom of God.

I I I'm just I have this assurance in my heart that that's gonna be resisted.

And if it's gonna be resisted before you make that impact, then after you make that impact, you could just imagine the devil coming in and trying to discourage you or trying to cause some kind of disillusionment in your heart and your mind.

And we were talking earlier and I mentioned how that when we reach the end of our camp life program or the end of a youth rally, we always always warn the young people, remember that battles always follow blessings because the devil wants to discourage us.

He doesn't want us to to be, you know, recently flushed with that great sense of victory, to see the power of God, to see the spirit of God moving in our lives.

He does not want that to continue.

So the resistance is real.

而且它可能以多种不同的形式、多种不同的方式出现。

And and it can be in so many different forms in so many different ways.

Paul wrote to Timothy, and he said, you can be sure of this, that anyone who desires to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

Mhmm.

That warfare is real.

Yeah.

And when you say persecution, mean demonically

没错。

Yes.

Orchestrated.

Yes.

Like somebody puts they they get it in their heart and mind to hurt or kill or murder or destroy because we know in John 10, that's how Christ describes the work of the devil, to destroy, to murder and to steal.

So I believe there's four words there.

So this is directly from the mouths of Christ, you know.

And then you see him in his temptation with the devil tempting him.

So, again, you have a real person, the devil, a fallen angel, a spirit, you don't see him, but he's here and he has an influence on people.

You know, we see it in the book of Job when the devil attacked Job in Job one, And then in Job two, even more insight into the work of the devil.

The the devil came and talked to God again about Job.

And the the devil said in that portion, said, Give him to me.

我会让他诅咒你。

I will have him curse you.

And the Lord said, Yeah, you can have him, but you cannot kill him.

And so then he gave him a sickness.

And so then again, a work of evil, of sickness in his physical body.

Imagine a sickness physical body, it's Acts ten thirty eight, that the devil causes disease.

Is he the primary source?

Not necessarily, we don't know that.

It's physiological and it's also material and physical.

But then can he cause, can he have impact on material, material?

Can he cause a disease or somebody's body?

And and yes, the answer is yes, you can.

I mean, that's that's pretty serious, isn't it?

Yeah.

I I think there's something of a blessing behind the fact that you you're being resisted and you're engaged in the warfare because it it could be a message that you're you're making a difference.

The impact of your faith is is known in in in a spiritual realm, and then there's that resistance that comes against it.

所以，尽管有些人会感到气馁和失望，心想：'为什么这些事都发生在我身上？'

So, as much as, you some people would be discouraged and disappointed and well, I don't know why all of this is happening to me.

我已经将生命献给基督。

I gave my life to Christ.

我渴望凭信心与神同行。

I want to walk with God by faith.

And all of a sudden, all of this comes against me.

I think we can both remember times in our lives where we could sense that happening.

I remember making the decision to go to Bible College and then everything that was seemingly coming against me.

找不到工作，无法就业。

Couldn't find employment, couldn't get a job.

车子也抛锚了。

The car broke down.

我能听到有声音在说，这是个错误的决定。

There were voices that I could hear that was saying, this was the wrong decision.

这是个糟糕的决定。

This was a bad decision.

你需要回家去。

You need to go back home.

你原本有份工作。

You had a job.

你原本有地方住。

You had a place to live.

你原本有辆能开的车。

You had a working vehicle.

现在这些全都没了。

Now all of this is gone.

难道你没意识到搬到这个地方上圣经学院是个错误的决定吗？

So don't you realize that you've made a bad decision by moving out here at in this geographical location and going to this Bible college?

你不觉得这很愚蠢吗？

Don't you think it was foolish?

是啊。

Yeah.

但我记得那是我们生命中的关键时刻，我们说：不，我相信上帝在其中。

But I remember that's a critical moment in our lives where we say, no, I believe God is in this.

我相信上帝呼召我去读圣经学院。

I believe that God called me to go to Bible college.

我知道这种阻力不仅仅是一系列不寻常的情况，而是一场属灵争战的一部分。

And I know that this resistance is not just an unusual set of circumstances, but it's part of a spiritual conflict.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Exactly.

Yeah.

I do remember those times.

And to be honest, I've met people that have faced that opposition and caved.

I'm not doing this.

I want a comfortable life.

I don't want this challenge.

我要走轻松的路。

I'm taking the easy road.

我选择捷径。

I'm using the easy lane.

我不想遇到任何阻力。

I don't want any resistance.

我不想做那些便利舒适的事情。

I don't want to do the convenient and comfortable thing.

我要离开这里。

I'm out of here.

我受够了。

I'm done.

我不会再这样积极了。

I'm not going to be active like this.

我不会再投入和参与了。

I'm not going to be committed and engaged.

这基本上就是昨晚传达的信息。

And that was essentially the message last night.

当身处风暴中时，你必须明白，上帝希望我们全心投入、信任他，并且不以其他神明为先。

When you're in the storm, you you gotta get you you know, God wants us to be all in and trust him and have no other gods before us.

要知道，当你面对生活时，若你决心全心与神同在，就必会遭遇阻力，但仍要坚守到底，你明白吗？

You know, when when you face the, you know, life and you're gonna be with God in all in, then you're going to be resisted And stay all in, you know.

拥抱祂，向祂学习。

Embrace Him and learn of Him.

如果你对神没有一定的委身，又怎能学习神的道呢？

How are you going to learn of God if you don't have some commitment to God?

你愿意委身于神吗？

Do you make a commitment to God?

你会遇到阻力，但只要坚持对神的承诺，就必能战胜你的敌人。

You get some resistance, but stay committed to God and you'll overcome your enemy.

是的。

Yeah.

绝对如此。

Absolutely.

没有备选方案。

No no plan b.

对吧？

Right?

是的。

Yeah.

That was the

顺便说一句，看似容易的路未必真容易。

And by the way, the easy road is not necessarily the easy road.

嗯哼。

Mhmm.

那是你的路，但那是条艰难的路。

That's your road, but that's a hard road.

是啊。

Yeah.

实际上，你可能会梦见普奈和图佩在佩鲁纳玛，那是芬兰语中土豆产地的红色小木屋。

Actually, You might dream about Punay and Tupay at Perunama, that's a Finnish for the little red cabin in potato country.

It's literally we would say the little house with the white picket fence, you know.

你可能会说，我想要一条轻松的路，明白吧。

You might say, I an easy lane, you know.

我想要那条容易走的路。

I want the easy road.

你可能会惊讶地发现，魔鬼、生活本身以及你生命中上帝的缺席，最终会让你像许多人一样陷入重重困境。

You might be surprised how much the devil and life itself and the absence of God in your life will end up you might find yourself with a lot like a lot of people in a lot of trouble.

是啊。

Yeah.

绝对如此。

Absolutely.

在我们经历属灵争战时，将上帝的话语和祷告融入其中有多重要？

And how important is it to incorporate the word of God and prayer when we experience and we go through spiritual warfare?

因为，我的意思是，这全关乎正确的思维方式。

Because, I mean, it's all about thinking properly.

如果你不与上帝同心，如果上帝的应许没有充满你的心灵和思想，我很难想象在没有理解经文的情况下，要如何应对那种属灵争战。

And if you're not thinking with God and if God's promises have not filled your heart and your mind, I I can imagine it would be very difficult to navigate your way through that kind of warfare without an understanding of the scripture.

Yeah.

We need the word.

With the word.

是的。

Yeah.

这绝对是最重要的一切。

It's absolutely everything.

我是说，任何属世的思维都无法做到我们所说的这些。

I mean, there's no natural mind can do what we're talking about.

属世的思维其实无法传递能与魔鬼抗衡的信息。

The natural mind doesn't really have a message that can take on the devil.

唯有上帝的话语才能与魔鬼对抗。

It's only the Word of God that can take on the devil.

要知道，属世的思维不了解神的道路，也无法传达神的信息。

You know, the natural mind doesn't know the way of God, doesn't have a message from God.

属世的思维或许聪明、理性、技巧高超、才华横溢，但在神面前却寸步难行。

The natural mind may be smart, reasonable, skillful, talented, but they can't go anywhere with God.

他们无法传达神的信息。

They don't have a message from God.

他们对神没有信心。

They don't have the faith in God.

他们无法与神同敬拜。

They don't have the worshiping with God.

抱歉。

Excuse me.

他们也不遵循神的道路。

And they don't follow the way of God.

所以自然人无法参与属灵争战。

So the natural man is nothing for warfare.

他没有能力进行属灵争战。

He has no ability to take on spiritual warfare.

他就像苹果派一样（不堪一击）。

He's, you know, like apple pie.

我是说，魔鬼可以轻易吞噬他。

I mean, the guy the devil can gobble him up.

他根本构不成对抗。

Like, he's not a contest.

没有神的话语，没有神的信息，没有神的恩典，没有信心，也没有神的真实。

There's no word of God, no message of God, no grace of God, no faith, no reality of God.

因此他非常脆弱。

So he's very vulnerable.

我们会被魔鬼边缘化，实际上也会被神边缘化。

We'll be marginalized by, the devil and actually by God too.

他被边缘化了。

He's marginalized.

他非常受限。

He's very limited.

他就像被困在盒子里，非常受限。

He's in like in a box and very limited.

所以他需要基督，基督就是道路。

So he needs Christ and Christ is the way.

是的。

Yeah.

有时信徒生命中遭遇的那些异常逆境，如果我们足够敏锐，就能识别其本质，然后将自己委身于遵行神的一切话语。

Sometimes that that unusual adversity that comes against the the life of the believer, if if we are discerning enough, we can recognize what it is and then, you know, commit ourselves, to living by every word of God.

这无疑也会影响我们的祷告生活，因为我们意识到，虽然我活在肉体中，但这场争战与肉体毫无关系。

And then it it definitely impacts our prayer life as well because we we realize, although I'm walking in the flesh, this warfare has nothing to do with the flesh.

It's spiritual in its nature.

And and I think that all of us as believers, we could we come into this conflict.

It's a reality.

I remember as a new believer just becoming a little bit confused at the outset of my faith because there was this resistance.

I thought, why isn't there?

Why isn't everyone happy that I've found some peace in my life and I have joy and I some sense of direction, some sense of purpose, some sense of identity?

I did not find that to be the case.

People were troubled, people were concerned, people said things that were not accurate about what was happening in my life.

But I quickly recognized, I think I was reading Watchman Nee's book, The Normal Christian Life, and that helped me immensely.

Uh-huh.

Because in that book, he talks about the reality of spiritual warfare.

Yes.

这让我受益匪浅，因为它帮助我从正确视角看待当时生活中发生的一切。

And it was very, very helpful because it helped to put everything in perspective of what was happening in my life at that time.

Well, that's very interesting.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Those little books, spiritual books, The Watchman, Andrew Murray, Oslo Chambers.

I mean, that was our diet.

没错。

Yes.

我们有那些书，还有圣经。那时候我们既没有iPhone也没有智能手机。

We had those books and we had our Bible and And back in those years, we didn't have an iPhone or a smartphone.

我们没有那么多让人分心的东西。

We didn't have a lot of those distractions.

但我们阅读。

But we read.

我们阅读、默想、祷告，一边读圣经一边实践《正常的基督徒生活》，并且真心相信、全情投入其中。

We read and meditated and prayed and read our Bible alongside the normal Christian life and we're really believing it or taken up by it.

然后我们会听牧师讲道，那些话语与我们产生共鸣，我们彼此相爱，凭信心生活并不断成长。

And then we would hear pastor preach and that connected and then we're loving each other, living by faith and growing.

是的，五十年后的今天我们仍在谈论这些，告诉人们这是非常真实的事，人们往往意识不到他们当下经历的一切正是魔鬼为阻止你追随上帝而设的障碍。

And yeah, here we are fifty years later talking about it and telling people that this is a very real thing, that people don't recognize that what they are going through at the moment is to dissuade you from following God.

Now, what are some of the ways that would that effect what are some of the effects that the devil has on a person?

我...我认为他会夺走我们的喜乐。

I I think he he can rob us of our joy.

《尼希米记》8章10节说，耶和华的喜乐是我们的力量，而魔鬼最热衷于剥夺这份喜乐。

The joy of the Lord in Nehemiah eight ten is our strength and how he loves to just rob us of our joy.

被窃取的喜乐可能是他用来打击我们的手段之一，因为这份喜乐就像引擎里的润滑油——

Stolen joy can be one of his devices that he uses to really discourage us because that joy, it kinda like I look at it like the oil in an engine.

它能确保一切运转顺畅。

It just kinda keeps everything running smoothly.

但如果你失去这份喜乐——我说的不是世俗的快乐，而是来自上帝的喜乐，嗯...

But if you lose that joy, and I'm not talking about happiness, but the joy that comes from God, Mhmm.

That can really impact our souls and impact our relationship with other people as well.

所以有一种情绪可能会被投射到我们身上。

So there's like a mood that could be projected on us.

我们来谈谈这个‘投射’，是我们自创的词吗？

Let's talk about that like projected, are we making up the word?

Well, it's hard to know the mechanics of a projection if there's a spiritual world and the physical world, but is there what's the connection?

Is there from the spiritual world the power to project to my mind a mood of depression or fear, like maybe anxiety, a lack of peace or contentment that could come from the air.

You know, from why do we say the air?

Because in Ephesians two it says, He's the prince of the power of the air.

And then when we say projection, we're making up that word to like just embody the idea that a thought comes to your mind to kill your neighbor, let's say.

Like kill my neighbor, where is that coming from?

Why would I think that thought, you know?

And then if embrace the thought and I have a murderous heart and I start to think about it and it kind of cooks in me, because we believe that when Cain killed his brother Abel that it was the devil that did that through Cain.

但在某个过程中，该隐心中已存此念，或许还有来自外界氛围的煽动，向他投射这个念头，随后事态发展，他最终真的付诸行动。

But somewhere in process that Cain has it in his heart and also perhaps projected from the atmosphere to inflame it or to project to him this idea and then the circumstances happen and he actually does do that.

And those thoughts have to be they have to be, denied.

They have to be cast down, and they have to be brought into captivity.

And again, that's all part of spiritual warfare because it's all directed at the mind of the believer, isn't it?

We also By the way, before preaching, I do sometimes pray the day before or whatever, give me the right mood for tomorrow night's sermon or give me the right spirit and the mood that God has for the church, you know.

But then and he does answer the prayer and he does do that.

And I think contrarily, it could be that the devil could also give me a mood or a negative or accusatory or self righteous spirit.

That a man of God, a man in general, a woman, can actually have a mood that is from another spirit.

That's why we do pray for the spirit to fill us.

Because the devil is a real he is a real element in affecting people in their lives.

And even in a family you can have great people, but there can be demonic activity that's going on amongst those great people that are your family members.

Or in a church, a great church, but there can be demonic activity going on with the leaders or workers or volunteers or the new people that come to the church.

That's why it's so important for us to constantly teach about spirit filling, about humility, about the anointing of God, about living by faith, about going forward, making faith decisions.

You know, if you put it in neutral and you don't make faith decisions, then it might be your natural life will consume you And you could be a target for the devil and his work.

Spirit filled is so important and when Paul wrote to the Ephesians, he said, you know, be filled with the spirit.

Be present, active, indicative.

Be constantly being filled with the spirit.

And they and Charles Burgeon was once asked, well, why do you why do you always have to be filled with the spirit?

And I like his answer.

He said, because I leak.

Because naturally speaking, we leak.

Yeah.

And we need to be constantly filled with the spirit.

And imagine being constantly filled with the spirit will lead to a a discerning heart and mind.

And and makes me think of how often we can just look at what's happening in our lives.

And because it involves people, we can start to look at the people and overlook the principles behind the people.

It's not about people, is it?

It's about principalities and powers and spiritual forces that are at work and resisting the work of God in our lives and in their lives as well.

So, let's take heed to the Ephesians six chapter and put on all the armor and be able to do warfare against Him.

And it's safe to say that perhaps the more challenging aspects of spiritual warfare happens when it does come from those that are closest to you.

Yeah.

Paul talked about all of his perils and all of his challenges and all of his trials.
